Our goal here at St. Paul VI is to help children and families build a faith that will serve them for a lifetime. However, studies show that the vast majority of children who receive Confirmation are no longer practicing their faith as adults. After much research, experts have concluded that the best way to transmit a lifelong faith to children is by empowering parents to pass on their faith. As daunting as this may sound to some of you, we have a whole team of people who are committed to walking with families on this journey! Since the most important thing children need for a lifelong faith is the support and involvement of their parents, we are now offering a family model of formation. In this model, families will meet once a month to go over a unit topic which will apply to children of all ages in the program. In between in person meetings, families will then work on chapters at home and have optional activities to complete together. At the in-person meetings, families will spend time together in the beginning and at the end of the meeting. In the middle, parents will receive their own instruction while children work with catechists. This program is a great opportunity for both parents and children to grow in their faith together! In order to participate in this program, we need you to carefully consider the meeting dates and compare them to your family's schedule. Because of the limited number of meetings, families need to commit to attending all of the sessions listed below. If you have any questions about the program or want further information, please contact Elizabeth Kos at [email protected].
