What is a Minister of Care?

Ministers of Care are pastoral, sacramental ministers who visit sick, elderly, and physically challenged persons in hospitals, nursing homes, and individual homes for shared prayer and Eucharist.

WHAT:
Ministers of Care bring the Eucharist to Catholics from all walks of life who are unable to participate in the Eucharistic Liturgy at their parishes. Recipients may include Catholics who are home bound, residing in Nursing Homes, or Patients in Hospitals.
The Archdiocese conducts periodic training to help insure those called to Ministry are educated in the spirituality, theology, and the rites of Pastoral Care of the Sick. This training also insures people are properly prepared to participate in this important ministry.

A FREE Copy of the “Minsters Of Care” Book will be provided to each participant in the training.

Who:
Parishioners, Men and Women 18 years of age and older, with support from their local Pastor. Important to let your Pastor, and the Minister of Care Coordinator from your Parish, know of your desire to attend the training.
(Your Pastor will request you be mandated for service after we verify completion of the training.)
