The Parish Finance Council members have an advisory and consultative role with the pastor. They are tasked with aiding the pastor in the administration of parish goods. Consultation with the Finance Council members is at the heart of the decision-making process – sharing information, listening, contributing to the discussion, and promoting consensus.
In order to be effective in their responsibilities as members of the Parish Finance Council, members should have a love for the Church and its mission.
The Parish Finance Council meets monthly with specific agendas and has access to all the relevant financial information and policies of the parish. Members have the responsibility of reviewing budgets, proposed capital expenditures, and the annual report.
