Our Advent Parish Reconciliation service is December 13th beginning at 6:30pm at St. Mary Church and priests will be available to hear confessions at this time. The Sacrament of Reconciliation can be a tough one for most people. It is not easy to admit our faults and shortcomings to ourselves, let alone out loud to another person. But the lightness and freedom that comes from unburdening yourself of these weights is a gift that can only come through the grace of God. As much as we all may dread going to confession, the way we feel after receiving absolution makes it all worthwhile! This group format is an opportunity for you and your family to receive this sacrament in a less intimidating setting.
As a reminder for everyone, this sacrament is for YOU. It is not about God forgiving you, it is about you feeling in your heart that you have been forgiven so that you can set down that weight and move on in your life. YOU will feel the forgiveness, mercy and Love of God that will help make room for even more joy this Christmas season. What a wonderful gift to give yourself and your family this December! This service is for the whole parish and will include children and adults of all ages. You can choose to sign up for a particular time using the sign-up link below, or you can just come to St. Mary Church between 6:30pm and 8pm and we will get you in. If the sign up is full, please check back later as we open more spots later in the evening for reservations. We ask that participants watch this prayer service prior to arriving for the sacrament. Participants should arrive at the church and let the ushers know if they have an assigned time or are walking in. Ushers will then escort participants to the priests for confession. Penitents can return to the church for prayer before they leave. We will have handouts available for everyone with instructions about how to receive the sacrament. If it's been a while for you or your child, we will make sure you know what you're doing! Sign up to reserve your time for Reconciliation by clicking here. Comments are closed.
