Have you seen this red question mark before? Do you ever wonder what it means? Come to Alpha Series and find out. Come to one or come to all. There is no commitment. All are welcome! What is Alpha? Alpha is a series of group conversations that explore life, spirituality and faith through a Christian lens. Alpha provides a non-judgmental and open environment where it’s easy for anyone who is skeptical or curious about faith to explore questions of life with new friends. How did Alpha get started? Alpha started in 1977 in England. People no longer assumed that God was true, or that the Bible was trustworthy. People were asking what was real. The founding pastor, Nicky Gumbel, designed Alpha as a “place” of hospitality, and a safe environment for people to voice their questions and express their points of view whatever those might be. Testimonies from a parishioners in 2023 Alpha Series: “When I was first invited to Alpha, I was apprehensive about attending but decided to go as there was no obligation to attend beyond the first meeting. After the first meeting, I was hooked, on the food at least! :) Regardless of my initial hesitation, I continued attending and grew to enjoy the videos, conversations, and people!” Jackie Alfred “A friend invited me to come to Alpha. I hesitated going but through the promptings of my friend and the workings of the Holy Spirit, I went. The Alpha experience brought me a deeper relationship with God, taught me a few things about my faith and brought new people into my life. If you are curious about Alpha, go to a meeting and allow yourself to experience God through yourself and others!” -Chris Crook Click here to Register. |
