​St. Paul VI Parish welcomes New Music Director, Cheryl Skoda Cheryl is a classically trained pianist of 30+ years and holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition with a focus on piano performance from DePaul University in Chicago, IL. Her experience with Catholic music ministry began as a child in the St. Cletus Children's Choir and later their Contemporary Choir. Cheryl has accompanied and/or directed the music ministries at St. Bonaventure and St. James United Methodist Church (Chicago, IL), St. Cletus Parish (La Grange, IL), Congregation of St. Joseph (La Grange Park, IL), and most recently Holy Guardian Angels Parish (Brookfield, IL). Beyond liturgical music, she is well versed in classical performance, contemporary music, chamber music, musical theatre, and instrumental rock. In addition, she is an experienced vocalist and award winning composer at the state and national levels. She currently serves as Piano Accompanist for the Lyons Township High School Choral Department. Now a Brookfield resident, Cheryl, her husband Dan, and their four year old twins look forward to moving to Countryside within the next few weeks. Cheryl is a passionate musician who feels called to unite diverse congregations through the power of prayerful song. She is excited to be joining St. Paul VI Parish and looks forward to serving and growing with this wonderful community.
